| Born and raised in San
Diego, Lani Bautista is a positive, free-spirit
whose individuality shines JOY as our newest team
member. Lani’s respect for hand-made design
is inspired by the craft and culture of her Filipina
roots. nurtured by discipline and resourcefulness,
Lani discovered her style at a young age by teaching
herself how to sew and create art. She finds peace
in deconstructing materials in order to reconstruct
something new, just as she seeks beauty in life
from unique perspectives. Lani’s love for
color theory and textiles guided her to a degree
with honors from The Fashion Institute of Design
and Merchandising in Los Angeles, where she pursued
ambitions as a Set Designer. She contributed to
various projects in the Entertainment industry
including Sony’s Property Department and
Fox’s Mad TV. furthermore, Lani participated
in study programs at Central Saint Martins and
London School of Fashion for Theatrical Design
and Special Effects Make-Up. Lani’s eclectic
talents definitely add even more color and flavor
to the JOY family. Currently, Lani is advancing
her degree in Art Education and Applied Design
in San Diego. She can be found collecting vintage
pieces, making gifts for loved ones, or celebrating
music with her daughter on her spare time. |
